A Seagull or an Eagle.

While I was painting the Guardian Totem one of my Native Artist friend Buster Wilson,  looked at the bird on top and said, "Let me help you put an Eagle on top."

I explained to him that there is always a seagull sitting on the top of the Guardian Totem at Ambleside in North Vancouver.  I also shared the work of Richard Bach "Illusions"  and "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" .

He thought my reasoning sound but still thought the Eagle would give the painting more power.

Buster also known as Cat Thunder sent me an email today. Titled Jonathan Livingstone Seagull.

It went like this:   "Like my title? Well I am always taking pictures. I took one today of  2 eagles flying way up in the sky. I sensed them and I look up they they are. I have a small scope on my camera and you can barely see these 2 eagles.  John Livingston Seagull?  I walk to the bus stop, I look up and see those two eagles again.  My surprise one was a seagull and it was chasing the eagle.  Way up there. I can see the whiteness of the seagull as it chased the eagle.  This reminded me of you and that seagull."

Contemplating .. now..

follow up email from Cat Thunder.. "Remember that Jolly Green Giant saying 'Look way up,way up' I forgot to mention that to you."

I think it was Captain Kangaroo.. that said look up, way way up..
