I went to my park and sat at the memorial for the veterans and put the painted drums on the memorial and "asked what should I do with them" It really feels like it is time to give them away. I just sat in the sun on a near by bench and looked at them. The eagle looked grand and the 9-11Tribute fell on it's side.
A couple of young men of around 30's walked by and one stopped .. took out his phone and took a picture of the Eagle with his with his phone camera. I wasn't going to say anything, but you know me can't keep my mouth shut.
"You like the Eagle?".. ah yes he said.. it is Stunning... he walked over to take a closer look. It was then he saw the other.. the 9-11 Tribute Drum. I felt the reaction of love radiate from his being. I picked up the drum and handed it to him and told him it was now his. I reassured him I was giving it to him freely and it belonged to him as I felt his heart when he saw it.
He went on to tell me that he was in need of some spiritual guidance right now as he was loosing hope. He was a Canadian but was born in the US. He missed his friends in the US felt a great deal of sorrow for all the challenges they were going through. He also was feeling his own sorrow and challenges in finding work for himself. Our discussion went on to being vegetarians and doing the best we could at being calm during this time of change and storm on the planet.
As he walked away he clutched the drum to his heart.
Sitting on another bench I did notice the elderly woman with her dog. She looked Swedish. I sat down on the bench nearby and told her how much I loved her boxer. Was looking at his face and thinking how I could paint him. She smiled. Told me she had watched me give the drum away.
We talked about the dog and the park and then I asked her what she did.
Oh. I am a professional artist! Well we had a lot of discussion around art.. and how she doesn't do galleries and how she sells internationally especially to Europe... etc. etc. etc.
Drums are Living Beings
Respect that and Remember the magic!!
